Viltnemnda.com reports on how Norway actually manages its wild animals: the municipal boards that set quotas, the biologists who supply the data behind them, and the drivers, hunters and landowners who live with the results.
We hold no licence, seat or funding from any body we cover. Our job is translation: turning board minutes and field surveys into reporting a non-specialist can actually use.

Sam and Ayesha started Viltnemnda after noticing how little Norwegian wildlife coverage made it past the press-release stage. Every story on this site is checked against its source document, whether that’s a board minute, a population survey or a legal statute, before it’s published.
